Robbery

![]() Ventura County Sheriff's Department On 1/26/13, deputies were dispatched to the Silver Strand Beach area regarding a robbery that had just occurred. Upon arriving, deputies contacted two male victims who had just been robbed of their personal belongings. The victims were approached by two male suspects who demanded their personal property. The first suspect brandished a metal bar, while the second suspect brandished a handgun he had concealed in his waistband. The two suspects threatened the victims and took their property before leaving the area. Following the robbery, the Sheriff’s Gang Unit assumed the investigation and quickly identified the two suspects involved as Nicholas Brandon Barker and Christian Samuel Frias, both from Oxnard. On 2/27/13, detectives contacted Barker who was already in custody at the Sheriff’s Main Jail on unrelated charges, and arrested him for his involvement in the robbery. Detectives obtained information that Christian Frias had moved to Yuma, Arizona following the robbery. On 2/28/13, detectives contacted the city of Yuma Police Department’s gang unit and requested their assistance with the investigation. Members of the Yuma Police Department used various resources and were able to locate and arrest Christian Frias without incident. Frias was subsequently booked into the Yuma County Jail on a robbery warrant and is currently awaiting extradition back to Ventura County. Nature of Incident: Robbery |
