Search Warrant Leads to 4 Arrests
Charges include possession of a stolen gun, under the influence, possession of methamphetamine, conspiracy to illegally transfer/sell firearms

During the first two weeks of January 2013, detectives with the Sheriff’s Gang Unit began investigating the illegal transfer/sale of firearms by several individuals in Fillmore. Detectives obtained a search warrant for two residences in Fillmore, one in the 1300 block of Blue Jay and the second in the 700 block of 5th St.

On 1-17-13, at about 1000 hours, the Sheriff’s Gang Unit, with assistance from the Fillmore Police Department detectives, served the search warrant. Detectives located several firearms, one of which had been reported stolen.

Four individuals were arrested at the scene and subsequently booked at the Main Jail. Arthur Escoto was booked for possession of a stolen gun, prohibited person in possession of a firearm, and under the influence while in possession of a firearm. Martin Gaspar was booked for a felony warrant and for being under the influence of a controlled substance. Daniel Cervantes was booked for being under the influence and for being in possession of drug paraphernalia. Jasmine Medina was booked for being in possession of methamphetamine and for being under the influence of a controlled substance. Escoto and Cervantes were additionally booked for conspiracy to illegally transfer/sell firearms.
