On 9-30-09, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department East County Narcotic Street Team, the Simi Valley Police Department’s Narcotic Unit, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office and the City of Thousand Oaks Police Department’s Special Enforcement Unit concluded a two-month investigation into Maria Almanza for selling cocaine. Almanza was operating a cocaine delivery service, which covered the communities of Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, and the San Fernando Valley. Almanza was arrested in the City of Thousand Oaks for possession of approximately 3 ounce of cocaine. Investigators served a search warrant at her home in the 1400 block of Third St, Simi Valley, where a small amount of cocaine and currency were seized from her residence. Almanza was booked into the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Pre-Trial Detention Facility for cocaine sales. Her bail was set at $250,000, and she is scheduled for arraignment on 10-2-09.
