On 3/11/13, Camarillo detectives served a search warrant at a residence in 3200 block of Buttercup Lane, Camarillo. Christopher Cole, 25, was arrested after he was found in possession of pepper spray and an altered replica handgun at his residence. Cole, a convicted felon for a narcotics violation, is prohibited under California state law from possessing pepper spray and the altered replica firearm.

An investigation was initiated on Cole after the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office learned he had made a threat against a CHP officer in Tulare County during the last week of February 2013. The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office also believed Cole was possibly in possession of a handgun and issued an officer safety bulletin to members of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office and surrounding agencies upon learning Cole was possibly residing in Camarillo. Cole was booked at the Ventura County Jail with bail set at $250,000.
