Ventura County Sheriff's Department Location: City of Thousand Oaks (S)uspects, (V)ictims, (W)itnesses Address Age In March of 2009, the Thousand Oaks Police Department received a report that a 13 year old female victim from Thousand Oaks was communicating online with a 27 year old man from Norwich, Connecticut. The victim and the suspect started an online relationship and engaged in lewd acts using a webcam and exchanged explicit photographs as well. The victim realized what she was doing was wrong and told her parents, who reported the incident to the Thousand Oaks Police Department. During the course of the investigation it was determined that the man was Jeffrey Boushee, a registered sex offender from Norwich, Connecticut. Thousand Oaks Detective Anthony Aguirre, a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, assumed the identity of the victim and continued to communicate online with Boushee and obtained additional evidence. Boushee was arrested for a probation violation for having child pornography on his computer at his home in Connecticut. The Connecticut probation department found additional victims in other states that Boushee was communicating with. Boushee has an arrest warrant for sending harmful material to a minor and lewd acts with a child in Ventura County including charges pending in Connecticut. The Ventura County Sheriff Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit reminds parents that the Internet is a privilege, and they need to monitor their children’s activities online. |
