On 10-18-12, Moorpark Patrol Deputies responded to a call of a rape in the area of Valley Road and Magnolia Street, Moorpark. Responding deputies quickly learned that the suspect, Julio Garcia, fled the scene after he attempted to rape an elderly woman. The investigation revealed that Garcia knew the victim and attempted to rape her after he forced her into the residence.

A short while later, detectives from the Moorpark Police Station located Garcia in the 1800 block of Cochran Street, Simi Valley. Garcia was arrested for attempted forcible rape and elder abuse. He was booked into the Ventura County Jail in lieu of $1,000,000 bail.
