Sheriff’s Office receives $65,000.00 grant from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control

Ventura County Sheriff's Department After participating in a competitive statewide process, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office was awarded a $65,000.00 grant to help combat underage drinking, curb incidents of driving under the influence, and assure vendors of alcoholic beverages maintain legal compliance. In cooperation with staff from the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, deputies will use grant funds to facilitate responsible alcoholic beverage sales and service training to owners and employees of businesses that are licensed to sell alcoholic beverages. Deputies will also conduct site inspections at licensed locations, check compliance with laws regulating the sales of alcoholic beverages to minors, and purchase some investigative equipment with grant funds. Funding from this grant will be applied to all locations within the Sheriff’s Office’s patrol areas, which includes all unincorporated areas and the Cities of Ojai, Fillmore, Camarillo, Moorpark, and Thousand Oaks.
