Stolen Vehicle Recovery and Arrests

Ventura County Sheriff's Department Location: Central Avenue and Del Norte Road, Camarillo Arrestees, Resident of, Age: On 6/27/2009, Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail deputies discovered an occupied stolen vehicle in the area of Las Posas Road and Ponderosa Drive. The vehicle was reported stolen by the Oxnard Police Department. The vehicle traveled north on the 101 Freeway and exited on Central Avenue. Deputies followed the vehicle as additional resources were responding to assist. The vehicle traveled on Central Avenue toward Del Norte Road when it made an abrupt turn into the USA gas station located at the corner of Central Avenue and Del Norte Road. The vehicle sped to the rear of the station while deputies continued following the vehicle. The suspects abandoned the vehicle behind the gas station and fled on foot. Deputies chased the suspects and caught one of them in the intersection. This suspect was identified as Pablo Juarez. He was immediately taken into custody without incident. The second suspect was found minutes later hiding in a nearby cornfield. He was also taken into custody without incident and identified as Osvaldo Juarez. A third suspect was found by deputies inside the stolen vehicle and identified Michelle Gonzalez. A records check revealed Juarez was a parolee at large. He was also arrested for CVC 10851- Stolen vehicle, HS 11550- Under the influence of a controlled substance and PC 148- Resisting arrest. Espinoza was arrested for 10851- Stolen vehicle, HS 11550- Under the influence of a controlled substance and PC 148- Resisting arrest. Gonzalez was arrested for HS 11550- Under the influence of a controlled substance and HS 11364- Possession of an injection device. All three suspects were booked for the listed charges at the Ventura County Jail. |
