At 0528 hours, today’s date, Sheriff’s Dispatch received a 911 call involving a 58 year old male subject, who was threatening to commit suicide with a gun. The subject was inside a residence with his girlfriend. Camarillo deputies were dispatched to the residence, in the 1600 block of Pierside Lane. Deputies began to acquire additional information about the incident and requested the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office SWAT and Tactical Negotiations Unit to respond.

At approximately 0854 hours, the incident came to a successful conclusion, and the suicidal subject was taken into custody. Nobody was injured as a result of this incident, and the subject was taken for a Mental Health evaluation. Residents in the area were alerted to the incident through the use of the “VC Alert” system.
