Bikram Otal, 23

An Oak Park man was arrested Thursday for stabbing another man to death during a fight Wednesday evening. Bikram Otal, 23, was booked on a single count of murder after he stabbed to death Donald Barnes, Jr., who was also an Oak Park resident.

The altercation occurred on the sidewalk next to the intersection of Lindero Canyon Road and Bowfield Street. Bikram, who suffered minor injuries during the fight, is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.

Barnes was pronounced dead at the scene. Homicide investigators are seeking anyone who saw or heard the fight or the events that led up to it. Witnesses can contact investigators at (805) 477-7000.
