Ventura County Sheriff's Department Location: 3000-block of Camino Graciosa, Thousand Oaks, Ca. (S)uspects, (V)ictims, (W)itnesses Address Age A Thousand Oaks woman was attacked inside her home Thursday morning, when a man beat her severely with a metal pry bar. Michael Brunton surrendered inside the residence on Camino Graciosa when deputies confronted him. He had forced his way inside the home and was lying in wait for his stepsister, whom he attacked with the pry bar when she returned home. The victim was transported to Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center, where she was listed in serious condition and is expected to survive. The confrontation stemmed from Brunton recently being accused of having inappropriate contact with the victim’s daughter. The daughter was inside the house at the time of the attack, and tried to escape when her mother was being beaten. Brunton chased the girl and pulled her back inside the home, where he continued the attack. Brunton was booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility for attempted murder, kidnapping, committing lewd acts on a child, and residential burglary. He is being held in lieu of $1,000,000.00 bail. |
