Tena sentenced to 16 years to life in prison for murder

VENTURA, CA - District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that Salvador Tena (DOB 8-6-55), of Oxnard, was sentenced by Ventura County Superior Court Judge Charles Campbell to 16 years to life in prison. Tena was convicted by jury trial on May 7, 2012, of the second degree murder with use of a knife of Candido Monge, age 65, also an Oxnard resident. There were no witnesses to the murder that occurred in a parking lot outside an Oxnard restaurant. Mr. Monge was able to identify Tena as his killer before he died in the hospital the following morning.
