Unlawful Weapons Possession / Narcotics Violation

Ventura County Sheriff's Department Location: U.S. 101 at Las Posas Road, Camarillo Suspects: Address: Age: On Saturday, February 7th, 2009, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Ventura County Sheriff's Canine Deputy Damian Alvarez stopped a vehicle on the northbound 101 freeway north of Las Posas Road, for a speeding violation. Upon contacting the driver, Adrian Ochoa, Deputy Alvarez discovered a 12-gauge shotgun shell in Adrian’s pants pocket. There were two other adult occupants in the vehicle, Alysha Martinez and German Ochoa, and one male juvenile. All four occupants were determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance and subsequently arrested. Deputies searched the vehicle and found a loaded sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun concealed in the trunk. A loaded Cobray M-11 assault pistol, a loaded .380 semi-automatic handgun, and a large capacity M-11 magazine were also found concealed under the rear passenger bench seat. All three weapons were un-registered. The three adults were booked at the Ventura County Main Jail, and the juvenile was booked at the Ventura County Juvenile Justice Center for the following felony charges: • Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine It was later determined that Adrian Ochoa gave a false name to avoid arrest on several out of county arrest warrants. Adrian Ochoa was additionally arrested and booked for providing a false name to a peace officer and driving with a suspended driver's license. |
