Vehicle Pursuit, Arrest of Wanted Felon

Ventura County Sheriff's Department During the night of 03/29/2013, members of the Sheriff’s Gang Unit were working gang enforcement and observed a suspicious subject driving a black sedan in the unincorporated area of Oxnard known as El Rio. The Sheriff’s Gang Unit quickly learned that the sedan was associated with (S) Timothy Knight. Knight currently has an active felony warrant for his arrest. Knight is also a known El Rio gang member with a violent criminal history. The Sheriff’s Gang Unit attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle. After failing to yield, a short vehicle pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended with Knight colliding with a parked vehicle. Knight fled on foot and was quickly taken into custody by the Sheriff’s Gang Unit. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of a large quantity of methamphetamine. Knight was arrested for being in possession of a controlled substance for sales, evading, and the warrant. He was booked into Ventura County Jail with a bail of $500,000.
