Whole Foods Market - Search and Rescue Donation

Ventura County Sheriff's Department On Thursday, March 4, 2010 Ashley Eaton, of Whole Foods Market presented the Ventura County Sheriffs Department’s East Valley Volunteer Search and Rescue Team with the extremely generous donation of $3,560.25. The money was raised through the Whole Foods Market 5% day program, which donates a percentage of their daily proceeds to local organizations. The East Valley Search and Rescue Team is comprised of 25 volunteers who collectively donate thousands of hours each year in searching for lost and missing persons. In addition the group also conducts evidence searches, provides staffing for major events, and provides training for other agencies. The team also responds throughout the state during mutual aid requests from other counties in need of personnel for wilderness searches and missing persons cases such as the recent Chelsea King search in San Diego County. The proceeds from this event will be used to purchase much needed equipment such as radios, rescue ropes, and foul weather gear for the team members. Location: 740 N. Moorpark Rd.
