George Runner (R-Antelope Valley) today released the following statements regarding the Governor's 2009 State of the State speech: "The Governor mentioned the political catchphrase of 2008: 'change.' The change that California needs to implement is to stop the ongoing cycle of overspending taxpayers' dollars. "California can beg, steal or borrow $40 billion today, but if we continue to spend with abandon we will be $20 billion in the hole tomorrow. "Now is the time to live within ours means; we must adopt a spending limit, hold the taxations of our citizens to a minimum and allow government to provide only the most basic needs."
