History Of Supporting Local Businesses Trumps Opponent's Poor Record
(Ventura) The Ventura Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee officially endorsed Tony Strickland in his race for the 19th District seat in the California State Senate. Strickland has a long history of supporting local businesses and promoting legislation aimed at growing our state and local economy. In their endorsement letter, the Ventura Chamber of Commerce PAC states: "Your past record in the State Assembly, in support of key business legislation, is greatly needed in our state today and your support of small businesses and working families was a major factor in this decision to support your campaign." "It is an honor to receive the support of an organization that does such a wonderful job representing the Ventura business community," said Strickland. "I will continue to work hard on their behalf and promote an environment that benefits working familes." Commentary in the local monthly magazine Ventura Business said it best... "Rarely has there been such a contrast in business support between two candidates. Tony Strickland supported California businesses 92.77 percent of the time, while Jackson voted favorably for business 13.25 percent of the six-year period." - Ventura Business (September 2008) "...Jackson has opposed discount retailers, supported higher local income taxes, car taxes, internet taxes, and increased regulation on businesses. Tony Strickland votes against such job-killing legislation, thereby standing with small businesses and working families." - Ventura Business (September 2008) |
