Ronald Walter Haase (August 1936 - January 2025)

Our beloved, husband, father and grandfather passed away January 8, 2025, after a brief illness with his loving wife Susan by his side.

Ron was born in Santa Paula to parents Walter and Hilda Haase. He spent his younger life on the family ranch until he married Susan in 1958. He served his country in the Army from 1955-1957. When he returned to Fillmore he met his future wife Susan Rogers . They have two sons, Michael and James. Ron had a very full life. He enjoyed spending time with his sons they went fishing, hunting and attending their little league games. He was also a 4H leader for two years. Both of their sons raised animals for the fair. In 1958 he went to work for the Fillmore Irrigation Company. During that time, he had the opportunity to meet all of the local farmers. They found him to be a responsible nice young man. One day Clifford Harrison asked him if he might be interested in purchasing his ranch. He made the deal so easy for him, he could not say no. In 1963 he moved his wife and both sons into the house and he now had his dream. It was his dream to be a grower. He resided in the same home up to the time of his passing with his wife. He loved their ranch so much and created so many wonderful memories that went with it. In the sixties he joined the Sheriff’s Search and Rescue unit. He assisted in restoring the Rescue Jeep. In 1968 they had the opportunity to purchase a small custom farming business. He ran the farming business with his wife Susan, she took care of the accounting portion of the business. They were an amazing team. The business grew under his leadership. They began traveling in the eighties to places such as Europe, China, Mexico, Africa and many cruises. Ron was Susan’s McGuiver, he could do anything that needed his attention. He was a very special loving husband. He retired and began restoring old cars. One being a vintage antique 1934 Ford 5 window Sports Coupe. Also, a 1930 roadster made by collecting parts from other cars. He took great pride in everything he did with his restoration. He even painted his own cars. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Susan, son Michael and wife Gina, son James, and Stacy Haase his grandchildren, Brian, wife Marie, Justin, wife Kristin, Janelle, Nicholas and Rebecca.
