Summer School Students, Grades 11 and 12 will take the CAHSEE Exam on July 28, & 29, 2009
The CAHSEE (California High School Exit Exam) will be administered at Fillmore High School to Juniors and Seniors currently enrolled in Summer School who have NOT passed one or both English-Language Arts or Math sections. Testing for these students will begin at 8 a.m. SHARP and will end at 4 p.m. on both days in Rm. #49. The California State Department of Education will release the test results in eight weeks following testing.
This Summer School testing is a new attempt at intense instruction with (almost) immediate CAHSEE testing following the end of Summer School and it is believed that this will help those students who are equally giving their best concentrated effort to be successful in passing these important exams. Students in Grade 12 who do not pass both CAHSEE exams by June 2010 will receive a Certificate of Completion, but not a Fillmore High School Diploma.
. The Fillmore Unified School District graduation requirements are as follows: 1) Graduating with a minimum of a 2.0 GPA, 2) Earning 230 credits, 3) Completion of all grade level course requirements, 4) Passing the California High School Exit Exam (English/Language Arts & Math sections (ea. w/ minimum score of 350), 5) Passing their Algebra class, 6) and having met the FUSD School Attendance requirements.
Students are reminded to take this exam seriously and review their Math and English class notes, do all their homework, review previously given quizzes and/or English or Math tests, and to come in before and after school to ask their teacher(s) for help on areas they do not understand clearly. Study guides, test anxiety, learning styles and testing strategy tips are available.
