Ventura, CA - Colorectal cancer, the second most common form of cancer diagnosed in the United States, will be the focus of a free seminar Community Memorial Health System is holding on Tuesday, Dec. 13

Kevin Chang, M.D., who is board-certified in internal medicine, hematology and oncology, will lead the seminar from 6 to 8 p.m. in the eighth-floor Nichols Auditorium at Community Memorial Hospital, located at 147 Brent St. in Ventura.

The seminar, “Frankly Speaking About Colorectal Cancer,” will cover the common symptoms and diagnosis of colon and rectum cancer; surgical, chemotherapy and radiation treatments and how to manage their side effects; and coping with life after treatment.

Dr. Chang received his medical degree from Peking Union Medical College and Ph.D from Columbia University. He completed his fellowship in hematology and oncology at UCLA and is an active member of the Community Memorial Hospital medical staff.

“Frankly Speaking About Colorectal Cancer” is part of the “Frankly Speaking About Cancer” series, a collection of cancer-related programs created by the Cancer Support Community. “Frankly Speaking About Colorectal Cancer” was created in partnership with the Colorectal Cancer Coalition and is made possible in part through a donation from AstraZeneca.
