Senior Citizen Driver’s Education Class

The Camarillo Police Department will be hosting a Senior Citizen Driver’s Education Class.

The Senior Citizen Driver’s Education Class is a cooperative effort between the Camarillo Health Care District, Camarillo Police Department, Department of Motor Vehicles, and senior drivers.

In an attempt to remain proactive and not reactive, the Senior Citizen Driver’s Education Class is designed to help senior drivers understand how age related issues could affect a person’s ability to drive safely. The Senior Citizen Driver’s Education Class will offer lecture on issues related to senior citizen drivers, advice on how to be a safer driver, information for caregivers, alternate forms of transportation and community resources available to seniors. Our goal is to raise awareness and reduce the number of senior-related injuries and deaths due to traffic collisions.

Interested senior drivers and caregivers are asked to call Deputy Mark Bastiaans at 805-388-5128 for more information about the class.

For reservations, call MaryGay San Jose with the Camarillo Police Department Community Resource Unit at 805-388-5155. Space is limited to 30 senior drivers. There is no charge to attend the program.
