This year will be the 11th Annual Mammoth Lakes Cross Country High Altitude Running Camp. The Fillmore High School Cross Country team travels to Mammoth for an 8 day trip of High Altitude Training. Each team member is invited, but must pay $300 to participate in the camp. The team tries to raise as much money as possible by selling chocolates, having car washes, other fundraisers, etc.

They are asking the Fillmore community to help by donating to the Fillmore High School Cross Country team. A Fillmore Cross Country runner Vanessa Avila went last year, and said, “We ran some difficult trails that challenged us physically and mentally, so we can become better runners and better teammates. It was a very fun experience to be able to go spend time with each other as a team.”

Both the girls and boys teams are determined to do what it takes to become champions next season. This year they want to train harder during the summer to better prepare themselves for next season. The team wants to go out and represent for the City of Fillmore.
