On June 9 & 10th at Long Beach University, the 2012 Special Olympics Summer Games were held. (Above) Anna Maldonado, 18 of Fillmore, participated in the event. Maldonado brought home three gold medals (1500 M Run, 800 M Run, and Long Jump). In May, Maldanado participated in three other events, held in La Crecenta, Agoura, and William S. Hart, bringing home three gold medals in each heat.
