Fillmore High Swim Teams Shine Against Nordhoff High

By Hannah Faith, FHS Swim Coach March 26, 2025 – Fillmore High School’s swim teams dominated Nordhoff High School last Wednesday at the community aquatic center. The boys varsity and JV squads extended their winning streak to three meets, with varsity winning 112-78 and JV taking 95-83. The girls varsity fell 92-98, while JV secured a 102-88 victory, showcasing Fillmore’s strength across the board. The boys varsity 200-yard medley relay team kicked off with a 2:37.81 win. Varsity Captain Ulysses Garcia (12th grade) led, later taking the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:18.83. JV’s 200-yard freestyle relay finished first in 2:46.77, with Alex Diez (12th grade) winning the 200-yard freestyle in 3:04.27. “We’re unstoppable,” Garcia said. The girls teams shone too. Varsity Captain Kianna Toyooka (10th grade) earned second in the 200-yard freestyle at 2:35.47, trailing Nordhoff’s Avery Monson. Nelly Rodriguez-Ceron (12th grade) won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:45.11. JV’s 200-yard freestyle relay took first in 2:42.04, with Lexie Gonzalez (12th grade) topping the 50-yard freestyle at 42.01. Fillmore’s depth thrilled fans, setting high hopes for future meets. |
