Fillmore Track & Field Athletes Compete at Citrus Coast Final

On Thursday, April 25th, Fillmore track teams traveled to Carpinteria to compete in the Citrus Coast League Finals.

The girls JV 4 X 100 meter relay team started off the day with a victory in a time of 56.37. Team members were Andrea Gamez, Jaiden Peacock, Maribel Ruiz, and Cristal Martinez. The Varsity Girls 4 X 100 meter relay team also finished in 1st. in a time of 51.93. Team runners were Sarah Cedillos, Mia Munoz, Karinna Magana, and Janessa Corona. Both Fillmore girl teams ran personal best times, and are Citrus Coast Champions. The Varsity boys finished 3rd in a time of 45.98. Team members were Abel Villela, Angel Gonzalez, Christopher Perez, and Angel Martinez.

In the JV girls 1600 meters, Jaelyn Castro placed 3rd in a personal best time of 6:17.26. She was followed Miley Tello 5th in a time of 6:25.71, Jacqueline Olivares 6th in 6:35.90, Jannet Vega 8th in 6:44.0, and Marbella Arroyo Tapia 9th in 6:44.81. Miley and Marbella also had personal best times. In the Varsity girls, Nataly Vigil won the event in a time of 5:26.57, and is a League Champion. Diana Santa Rosa was 3rd in 5:47.84, Jessica Orozco finished 6th in 5:51.38, and Joseline Orozco was 8th in 5:55.25. In the F/S boys 1600 meter race, Alejandro Rangel was 21st in 5:27.37, and he recorded a personal best time. In the Varsity boys, Omar Heredia was 2nd in 4:35.98, Angel Garcia 7th in 4:40.26, Eduardo Vigil 8th in 4:43.71, Diego Ramirez was 11th in 4:49.17, Kobe Lizarraga 13th in 4:52.16, Martin Manzo 16th in 4:53.86, and Joshua Estrada 17th in 4:54.16. Martin posted a personal best time.

In the JV girls 100 meter hurdles Michelle Setty was 4th in 22.09, and Madelynn Gonzalez was 5th in 22.28. Madelynn ran a personal best time. In the Varsity girls 100 meter hurdles, Emelie Magana claimed 3rd place in 19.76. Emelie ran a personal best time. In the 300 meter hurdles, Yaneli Landin was 3rd in 58.05. Yaneli also ran a personal best times.

In the JV girls 400 meters, Xitlaly G. Mejia was 1st in 1:08.64. Patzy Orozco was 3rd in 1:11.43. She was followed by Melanie Flores 5th in 1:15.65, and Julieta Gabriel 11th in 1:18.39. Xitlaly, and Julieta, ran personal best times. In the Varsity girls 400, Fillmore’s top finisher Leah Barragan placed 4th in 1:04.75 and Emily Soltero was 7th in 1:09.13. In the F/S boys Valente Garcia placed 7th in 1:05.02. In the Varsity boys, Sebastian Torres: placed 3rd in 53.80. He was followed by Angel Laureano 6th in 55.55.

In the JV girls 100 meters, Andrea Gamez finished 2nd in 14.33. Following were Jaiden Peacock 5th in 14.60, Cristal Martinez 7th in 14.78, Alexandrea Gonzalez 15th in 15.42, D’andra Amezcua 16th in 15.46, Maribel Ruiz 17th in 15.60, Julie Luna 18th in 15.63, Aliana Manzano 20th in 15.69, and Delilah Cervantes 21st in 15.70. Cristal ran a personal best time. In the Varsity girl’s competition, Karinna Magana placed 2nd in 13.41. She was followed by Janessa Corona 3rd in 13.66, Mia Munoz 6th in 13.82. Sarah Cedillos 15th in 14:22, and Jasmine Gonzalez 19th in 14.46. Janessa ran a personal best time. In F/S boys Joshua Felix was 4th in 12.55, Anthony Magana 10th in 12.86, Isaac Rivera was 11th in 12.94. and Gabriel Lagunas 21st in 13.20. Joshua, Anthony, and Gabriel ran personal bests. In the Varsity boys race, Angel Martinez was 4th in 11.74, Christopher Perez 10th in 12.04, Angel Gonzalez 12th in 12.14, Abel Villela 16th in 12.30, Saul Fraga-Sandoval 19th in 12.51, Josiah Cruz 22nd in 12:56, and Jasiah Patterson 24th in 12.58. Angel Gonzalez ran a personal best time.

In the JV girls 800 meters, Miley Tello finished 1st in 2:52.91. She was followed by Jaelyn Castro 5th in 2:57.71, Natalie Perez 8th in 3:02.01, Marbella Arroyo Tapia 12th in 3:07.17, and Jannet Vega 13th in 3:10.59, Miley, Natalie, and Marbella, ran personal best times. In the Varsity girls, Nataly Vigil was the 3rd finisher running a time of 2:27.64. She was followed by Leah Barragan 4th in 2:37.40, Diana Santa Rosa 6th in 2:39.53, and Joseline Orozco 7th in 2:39.62. This was a personal best time for Joseline. In the boys F/S 800, Alejandro Rangel was 12th in 2:27.96. This was a personal best for Alejandro. Kobe Lizarraga was 1st. in the Varsity boys 800 in 2:08.05, Omar Heredia 9th in 2:11.93, Nicholas Cabrales 15th in 2:18.08, and Angel Laureano 18th in 2:25.77.

In the JV girls 200 meters, Jaiden Peacock was 2nd in 30.01, Andrea Gamez 3rd in 30.24. She was followed Xitlaly G. Mejia 6th in 30.75, Cristal Martinez 8th in 31.55, Patzy Orozco 14th in 32.02, and Madelynn Gonzalez 16th in 32.32. In the Varsity girls 200, Mia Munoz claimed 7th place in a time of 28.85, Jasmine Gonzalez was 13th in 29.44, Emelie Magana 15th in 29.97, and Karinna Magana 20th in 35.18. In the F/S boys 200 meters, Joshua Felix placed 2nd in 25.43. Gabriel Lagunas was 17th in 27.29. In the Varsity boys, Angel Martinez was 5th in 23.93, Christopher Perez 10th in 24.66, Angel Gonzalez 12th in 25.03, Sebastian Torres 14th in 25.21, and Josiah Cruz 16th in 25.60. Angel Martinez ran a personal best time.

In the JV girls 3200, Jacqueline Olivares was runner up in a personal best time of 13:57.34. In the Varsity 3200 meters, Nataly Vigil was 1st in 12:12.90, Jessica Orozco was 2nd in 12.20.95, Diana Santa Rosa was 4th in 12:46.83, Alexandrea Martinez 8th in 13:14.16, and Joseline Orozco 9th in 13:19.51. Jessica, Diana, and Joseline ran personal best times. In the boys F/S, Alexander Nunez was 7th in a personal best of 11:51.4. In the boys Varsity, Eduardo Vigil was 3rd in 9:53.84, Angel Garcia was 4th in 10:06.37, Joshua Estrada was 8th in 10:31.68, Diego Ramirez 11th in 10:45.75, Martin Manzo 12th in 10:46.87. Angel, Joshua, and Martin ran personal best times.

In the JV girls 4 X 400 meter relay, Fillmore athletes finished 1st in 4:41.94. The winning team consisted of Patzy Orozco, Xitlaly G. Mejia, Jaiden Peacock, and Andrea Gamez. This was a team personal best. The Varsity girls team placed 5th in a time of 4:30.78. Team runners were Leah Barragan, Nataly Vigil, Sarah Cedillos, and Mia Munoz. This was a personal best team time. The F/S boys team finished 5th in 4:11.58. Team members were Gabriel Lagunas, Valente Garcia, Joshua Felix, and Alejandro Rangel. This was a team personal best time. The Varsity boys also placed 2nd in 3:36.14. Team members were Sebastian Torres, Angel Laureano, Eduardo Vigil, and Omar Heredia. This team ran a personal best time.

In the JV girls long jump, Delilah Cervantez finished 4th in a jump of 11’06”, Aliana Manzano 2nd in 11’08”, D’andra Amezcua 7th in 11’04”, Aliana Manzano 8th in 11’2.5”, Maribel Ruiz 9th in 11’1.75”, Alexandrea Gonzalez 12th leaping 09’09”, and Julie Luna 13th in 9’06.75”. In the Varsity girls long jump, Janessa Corona claimed 7th place leaping 13’5.75”, Julissa Mendoza placed 11th with a jump of 13’00”, Abigail Magana 12th in 12’04.75”, Jasmine Gonzalez 13th in 12’4.75”. In the Varsity boy’s competition, Abel Villela placed 5th in 17’11”, Jasiah Patterson was 12th. in 17’00”, Josiah Cruz was 17th, recording a jump of 16’08”, and Saul Fraga-Sandoval was 19th in 16’0.5”.

In the JV girls triple jump, Delilah Cervantez placed 6th in 22’03”. In the Varsity girls triple jump competition, Sarah Cedillos was 5th in 29’0.5”, Abigail Magana 11th in a jump of 27’1.75”, and Julissa Mendoza 12th in 25’04”. In the Varsity boys, Saul Fraga-Sandoval was 4th in 36’08”, and Mauricio Ocegueda 5th in 35’11.5”.

In the Varsity girls high jump, Yaneli Landin was 9th clearing 3’11”. In the Varsity boys high jump, John Jimenez was 3rd clearing 5’02”.

In the JV girls discus, Valerie Rodriguez was 3rd with a toss of 72’19”, Emma Torres 6th in 60’05”, Jazmin Magana 60’04”, Yesenia Robles 11th in 48’03”, and Destiny Tellez 12th in 47’04”. In the Varsity girls competition, Aerin Garciia was 7th with a throw of 76’04”. She was followed by Angeline Hernandez 8th in 68’02”, and Emily Soltero 9th in 67’03”. In the F/S boys, Carlos Cabral was 2nd in 102’04”, Isaac Rivera was 3rd with a toss of 102’04”, Valentin Garcia 7th in 72’09”, and Emanuel Velazquez 8th in 70’08”. In the Varsity boys, Anthony Tafoya was 1st with a toss of 147’05”, and Daniel Viveros was 4th in 124’03”.

In the JV girls shot put, Emma Torres was 3rd in 23’4.25”, Valerie Rodriguez was 7th in 21’6.75”, Andrea Ramirez 9th in 21’02”, Jazmin Magana 10th in 20’02”, and Destiny Tellez 11th in 20’00”. In the Varsity girls, Emily Soltero was 3rd in 27’10.5”, and Daniela Curiel 8th in 25’02”. Genaro Villela won the boys F/S boys shot put with a heave of 40’04”, Carlos Cabral was a close second in 39’11.5”, and Isaac Rivera 5th in 33’6.5”. Tony Tafoya claimed 4th in the Varsity boys shot put with a toss of 40’5.75”, Daniel Viveros was 7th with a put of 37’11.25”,
