Varsity Recap:
Fillmore Flashes open their season up with a 49-6 win over Villanova. According to Coach Dollar, “the offense executed and the defense played strong against a solid Villanova team. Nick Paz had 155 yards on 16 carries to lead the Flashes past the Wildcats. Christian Prado had over 10 tackles and Ralph Sandoval had a 72 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown.

Flashes played against Villanova for their league opener, Estaban Vasquez had a great running game as a running back, Vasquez had a touch down and a 2 point conversion. Corey Cole threw a 40 yard pass to Ben Fernandez for a touch down, on a quarterback sneak Cole also added points to the score board. Johnny Golson had 2 touchdowns, 70 yard punt return and a 40 yard pass from Cole. The defense had an overall good game. Fillmore beat Villanova 32-0. The Flashes play Malibu this Thursday at 3:30 p.m. away.

 

On Friday October 31, 2008 Fillmore High School will host the 98th meeting between Santa Paula and Fillmore. This time honored tradition is anticipated by both cities as they join together yearly for this long awaited event. Due to the fact that this year it falls on Halloween, anyone dressed in costumes that are “Middle School Age” and above WILL NOT be allowed into the game. Fillmore High School apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause, but hopes you will understand that it is important to create a safe environment for all that attend.

Pre-Sale Tickets will go on sale MONDAY, OCTOBER 27TH and will be available during school hours at the Student Store at Fillmore High School. Adults $7, Students & Children $4 and Seniors $3. Youth Basketball Registration
The City of Fillmore Recreation Department will be conducting Youth Basketball registration for boys and girls grades 1-9. Registration will be accepted at the recreation department beginning Monday, October 6, 2008 and continuing through Friday, November 7, 2008 between 8:00AM-5:00PM. League play is scheduled to begin Saturday, December 6, 2008 and continue through the end of February 2009. Cost for registration is $50 (price includes picture package and a trophy). The Fillmore High School Football season opens this Friday night at home against Channel Islands High School. On behalf of the Fillmore High School students and staff I would like to invite you and your family to join us. Ticket prices are $7.00 for adults, Middle School students and younger $4.00 (if accompanied by an adult), and ALL Children without an adult $4.00.

Please remind your son/daughter that if they come to the game they are required to sit in the bleachers to watch the game. Students will not be allowed to loiter behind the bleachers or near the snack bar area. Students who do not comply will be asked to leave and will not be allowed to return to other games this year.
