Juan Moreno #57 tackles a Mission Prep runner during last Friday night’s game. Varsity Football Highlights: FHS=7 Mission Prep=40. The Flashes held Mission to 7 points in the second half. Andrey Sanchez ran for 131 yards. Collin Farrar ran for 123 yards. According to Coach Dollar, “ We made too many mistakes in the first half, but we played well in the second half, This is one of the best teams we have faced in five years.” J.V. Football Highlights: FHS J.V. = 33 Mission Prep J.V. =7. Fillmore Flashes JV started off the season with a victory against visiting Mission Prep high school. The leading scorer for the Flashes was Daniel Flores who rushed for 2 touchdowns. Also scoring for the Flashes were Michael Luna, Damien Gonzalez, Joseph Magana, who also had 2 interceptions one of which was a defensive score. On defense the Flashes were led by Michael Castro and Andy Vasquez, who held the visiting team to less than 50 total yards. Next week the Flashes welcome Village Christian for their Homecoming game.
