Flashes vs Cardinals
The Flashes played rival Santa Paula last Friday and came back with a loss. It wasn’t quite the game most expected it to be. Santa Paula won 14-7. With that being said both defenses played great. Santa Paula scored the games first touchdown in the first quarter to go up 7-0. The Flashes defense held strong only allowing only 1 first half touchdown. However the Flashes offence couldn’t get started as quarterback Carson McLain threw 1 interception in the first half. Santa Paula scored again in the 3rd quarter to go up 14-0. Carson McLain scored Fillmore’s only touchdown of the game on a quarterback sneak with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter. Fillmore appeared that they were going to force overtime though as they had the ball on the 20 with less than 1 minute left in the game. However, on 3rd down Carson McLain was sacked for a loss and on the next play McLain’s pass was batted down. The Flashes lost 14-7. Hats off to the Cardinals. Great job on the win. Notable players for Santa Paula were Daniel Kohr and Noel Magana. Notable players for the Flashes were Andrey Sanchez and Daniel Flores. Good luck to Santa Paula on the rest of their season as they play Albert Einstein Academy (Santa Clarita). The Flashes travel to Santa Clara (Oxnard). JV plays on Thursday and Varsity Plays on Friday. Better luck next year Flashes. |
