Lady Flashes start season off with a bang

The Lady Flashes Varsity Softball team won their first Tri Valley league game on Thursday, March 18th, against Fillmore's biggest rival, the Santa Paula Cardinals. The final score was 14-1 with the flashes showcasing their strong offense. There was a total of 15 hits with Heidi Hinklin and Kennedy Smith having 3 hits, Kellsie McLain and Tori Perez 2 hits a peice and Chellie Arreguin, Amanda Alamillo, Samantha Wokal, Kelsey MacDonald, and Maritza Mesa all contributing a hit. Brianna Martinez took the win on the mound with Kianna Tarango and Lilah Duran following her and finishing things up. On Saturday, March 20th the Lady Flashes finished a 3 weekend tournament in Orange County going 4-0. Their next game will be a tough one against Oaks Christian on March 23rd. Last Thursday, March 18, 2010 Lady Flashes JV Softball Manager Brenda Ortiz and Coach Phillip (Lefty) Avila, won their first home game 16-0 against the Santa Paula Cardinals. Game highlights: Marissa Vasquez pitched a solid 5 innings allowing only 1 hit, Karinna Carrillo caught the entire game and hit 4-singles, Briana Garcia (first base) had a double, and a home run, Jaynessa Lopez (3rd base) hit a double, Kaylee Hinklin (shortstop) had 2 - singles. Their next home game is Thursday 3/25/10 vs Oak Park 3:30pm. |
