Varsity Flashes took the Win this weekend against Carpinteria at Carpinteria High School with a final score of CHS-24 to FHS-28. Kevin Galvan had 5 pancake blocks and 10 tackles on defense. Saul Santa Rosa rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns. George Tarango had 8 catches for 145 yards and one catch for a touchdown. With one minute seven seconds on the clock, and no timeouts, down 21 - 24 Christian Cisneros led the Flashes on an 88 yard drive with catches by Angel Velez and George Tarango. The drive was caped off by a 12 yard TD pass from Cisneros to Tarango with 20.5 seconds left on the clock. After a squib kick put Carp on their own 17 yard line, the Flashes Defense held Carp until time ran out. Fillmore is now 1-0 in league play.
