Muñoz, Fillmore AYSO Congratulations Girls 14U AYSO EXTRA team for winning the AYSO Section 10 Championship game, which was held Sunday, January 22, 2023, at Arroyo Vista Community Park in Moorpark. And special congratulations for making history as the first AYSO EXTRA team from Fillmore to win this championship series. Next, they will be advancing to the AYSO Western States Championships where they will be representing not just Fillmore but Southern California as well. They will be competing against teams from Alaska, Northern California, Oregon, and Washington. Good luck on the next journey! |

Enlarge Photo Courtesy Fillmore Condors Fillmore Condors competed in the USATF Junior Olympics cross country meet on December 10th, 2022 which was held in Bryan-College Station, Texas at The Dale Watts Cross Country Course. We had 10 local athletes compete in this elite race. These athletes competed with a team of runners from local areas to form Valley United Striders. Athletes from the Fillmore Condors club were Brooklyn Limon, Jacob Ramirez, Itzel Arana, Itzel Abrego, Anika Uribe, Kristen Theabold, Kirsten Theabold, Abel Arana, Kaylie Theabold & Ayden Barajas. The first race of the day was the Gremlin girls 7/8 division with 189 runners competing. Brooklyn Limon placed 43 out of 189 girls and ran a personal best of 8:26.2. Her team placed 3rd earning a spot on the podium. Next up was our Gremlin boys 7/8 division. First time cross country runner Jacob Ramirez also ran a personal best in 8:53.2, placing 131 out of 219 athletes. The 9/10 girls division had 283 athletes. Itzel Arana ran a personal best in 12:13.7 and placing 42nd. Teammate Itzel Abrego came in 164th with a time of 13:39.7. Anika Uribe who placed 121st also had a personal best with a time of 13.09.8. Up next were the Theabold sisters, Kristen and Kirsten who competed in the 11/12 girls division. This race had 350 runners. The sisters along with their teammates earned a 2nd place podium finish. Kirsten placed 43rd with a personal best of 11:25.9 and Kristen ran a 12:32.9 with a 174th place finish. Abel Arana was up next in the 11/12 boys division. This race had 382 athletes. Abel finished 85th and ran a time of 10:56.7. Along with his teammates they earned a 3rd place overall finish out of 33 teams. The last Condors to compete were Kaylie Theabold and Ayden Barajas. They were part of the 13/14 division. The girls’ race had 350 runners. Kaylie ran a time of 18:05.2 and placed 260th. With 416 runners and the largest of the races we had Ayden compete. He placed 332nd with a time of 16:23.7. Fillmore Condors is a non-profit organization. Our coaches take great pride in training our local athletes who range in ages of 6-18 years old. Our coaching staff includes Jared Perez, Cali Venegas, Jessica Huerta, Sandy & Felix Zuniga. The club would like to thank the following organizations for their continued support through the years. Enlarge Photo Two former members of the Fillmore girls cross country team led Moorpark Community College this year. They traded off the top two positions on the team throughout the season, and were instrumental in Moorpark qualifying for the State Final this past Saturday in Fresno. Due to the flu, Alianna Tapia was unable to compete in the State meet. Teammate Vanessa Avila however led the Raider quartet, a non-scoring team, by finishing in 43rd place in 20:01.8. Rey Laureano, also Fillmore Ali no competed at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida as a member of the Westmont Cross Country team. In the team competition, Westmont finished in 17th place. Rey finished the 8,000 kilometer race in 27:37.3. On November 11th, Camilo Torres led the Cal State University, Northridge Matadors to the NCAA Division 1 West Regional Finals. This race was run at Chambers Creek Regional Park in University Place, Washington. There the men’s team finished in 27th place. Camilo was the team’s top finisher, capturing 121st place in 30:57.7. He also broke the CSUN 10k Division I school record for freshmen. The previous record was set in 2014. Camilo was also selected the male student/athlete for the week of November 14th. |

![]() On Friday, November 11th the Fillmore Raiders Bantam Silver and Juniors Black teams traveled to SoFi Stadium to compete in the Super Bowl. Bantams Silver also traveled to SoFi Stadium however, they lost to Valley Rush but took 2nd place for their National League. Juniors Black defeated Santa Barbara in the Super Bowl and claimed the title of National Champions for their league. Congratulations to both teams on and amazing season! Congrats as well to the Raiders Mighty Mites Silver for claiming the Championship for the American League against Newbury Park on Saturday, November 5th in Ventura. ![]() This past Friday, November 4th, the Fillmore Flashes traveled to Santa Ana for the first Round of CIF Playoffs in their division. Unfortunately, after a long hard-fought game, the Flashes fell short with a final score 7–14. ![]() The Fillmore Raiders Juniors Black team which will be heading to the GCYFL National Conference Superbowl at SoFi Stadium on Friday, November 11th, at 5:00pm. Juniors Black went undefeated during the regular season with a record of 7-0 to claim the number one seed in the National Conference (Division 1). They currently stand with a record of 9-0 after winning both rounds of play-off games. Your Fillmore Raiders Division 1 Juniors Black will face the Santa Barbara Saints in an unforgettable game. This will be Head Coach Chuy Jasso’s 3rd Super Bowl appearance for the Fillmore Raiders.
