Who is the new President of Egypt? He’s an absolute disaster — an Islamic Radical who poses a grave threat to Israel, the U.S. and to the people of Egypt, especially the Christians of which there are millions in Egypt. Here’s what Mohamed Morsi (sometimes spelled Morsy or Mursi) said at a speech at Cairo University in May: “The Koran is our constitution, the Prophet is our leader, jihad is our path and death in the name of Allah is our goal.” According to a Russian news service, Morsi also said, “Today we can establish Sharia law because our nation will acquire well-being only with Islam and Sharia. The Muslim Brothers and the Freedom and Justice Party will be the conductors of these goals.” Those quotes ought to provide insight into just how dangerous Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood really are. There is also a report in the Iranian and Arab press today that Morsi wants to expand strategic ties with Iran and reconsider Egypt’s peace treaty with Israel (note: Morsi’s advisors are disputing this).

Nevertheless, President Obama called Morsi and congratulated him on his victory. One of the most fascinating questions to me is: What happens to Egypt in end times Bible prophecy? The answers are found in Isaiah 19, as I have written about in the past on this blog.

Two months ago, James Lovelock, the godfather of global warming, gave a startling interview to msnbc.com in which he acknowledged he had been unduly “alarmist” about climate change.

The implications were extraordinary.

Lovelock is a world-renowned scientist and environmentalist whose Gaia theory — that the Earth operates as a single, living organism — has had a profound impact on the development of global warming theory.

Unlike many “environmentalists,” who have degrees in political science, Lovelock, until his recent retirement at age 92, was a much-honoured working scientist and academic.

Gun grabbers need to be sneaky to accomplish their goals. Their latest trick is to convince anti-gun states to mandate that handguns be microstamp-ready. That means the weapon’s firing pin is redesigned to imprint a code on the primer so that, in theory, it will give law enforcement the ability to identify a specific gun from shell casings left at a crime scene. Like most left-wing endeavors, this one isn’t going to work.

That didn’t stop the New York State Assembly on Tuesday from passing a microstamping bill backed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg. The legislation, which passed 85 to 60, specifically says guns manufactured in New York or delivered to a dealer after January 2014 have to produce a unique alpha-numeric marker on at least two locations of each spent cartridge that identifies the make, model and serial number. Fortunately, the state Senate blocked the bill on the last day of this session on Thursday, as it has done in four previous sessions.

(Reuters) - The instructor of a college course that taught top military officers the United States was at war with Islam has been relieved of teaching duties and the course ordered redesigned to reflect U.S. policy, a military spokesman said on Wednesday.

The elective course at the National Defense University's Joint Forces Staff College included a slide that asserted "the United States is at war with Islam and we ought to just recognize that we are war with Islam," Pentagon officials said in April as they launched a review of the course.

Colonel David Lapan, a spokesman for the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said on Wednesday a review of the course found that "institutional failures and in oversight and judgment" led to the course being modified over time in a way "that portrayed Islam almost entirely in a negative way."

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, February 27, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – Chicago’s Francis Cardinal George is warning the HHS contraception/abortifacient mandate will close Catholic hospitals and universities or force them to secularize, a process he calls “a form of theft.”

If the regulation is not rescinded, the Catholic Church will be “despoiled of her institutions,” he said in a column printed on CatholicNewWorld, likening the proposed policies to the restrictive “freedom of worship” allowed in the Soviet Union.

Shaanxi, China—Government officials forced Feng Jianmei, who was 7 months pregnant with her second daughter, to undergo an abortion ten days ago. Five family planning officials abducted Ms. Feng on June 2nd while her husband, Deng Jiyuan, was away at work. When she could not pay the fine of 40,000 RMB ($6,270), they forcibly aborted her daughter.

“Feng Jianmei’s story demonstrates how the One-Child Policy continues to sanction violence against women every day,” said Chai Ling. “We learned that family planning officials in Jianmei’s region are launching a campaign of forced abortions this month. They received a lower grade from the government because of ‘over-quota’ births, and Jianmei’s story shows us how they plan to respond. Unfortunately her family was the first to receive the ‘opening of the knife.’”

Last week, the Northrup Grumman unveiled its latest addition to the Navy’s Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Force.

The MQ-4C Triton has been four years in the making and features a AN/ZPY-3 multi-function active-sensor (MFAS) radar system. According to the Navy’s press release, the MFAS will allow it to cover 2.7 million miles in one mission. This unmanned aerial vehicle with a 130.9-foot wingspan is expected to free up other aircraft to focus on other missions, according to the release.

Just when you thought the world could not be, at times, a more gruesome place, something occurs that defies logic, reason and all humanity. That is the case of a Feng Jianmei, a Chinese woman who was savagely beaten by family planning officials, dragged into a vehicle, and taken to an undisclosed location where she was forced to undergo an abortion. Worse still, she was seven months pregnant at the time.

The World Trade Organization is moving closer to eliminating country-of-origin labels and replacing them with “Made in the World” initiative labels because they say we need to “reduce public opposition to free trade” and “re-engineer global governance.”

Attorney general on hot seat for probes on gun-running, child exploitation funds

What a week it was in Washington. Summer heat has not yet hit, but steam already is rising from Republicans on the Hill as they express outrage over U.S. Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr.’s conduct.

Mr. Holder was up on the Hill last week testifying before Congress, again, about the Department of Justice’s gun-tracking Fast and Furious operation. There are allegations of lies and obstruction of justice committed by department employees and claims that the attorney general himself is covering for his staff rather than upholding the U.S. Constitution. Mr. Holder’s recent testimony caused Rep. Paul A. Gosar, Arizona Republican, to declare Mr. Holder is unfit to be America’s attorney general.

Rep. Darrell E. Issa, California Republican, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, hopes to hold Mr. Holder in congressional contempt over his alleged refusal to share information with the American people and Congress about which department officials were involved in this botched program.

Minneapolis based mega-retailer, Target Corp. has announced that throughout the month of June (which President Obama has officially declared "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month") it will be selling "gay pride" t-shirts with 100 percent of the proceeds to benefit the Family Equality Council, a national pro-homosexual organization bent on eliminating faith-based adoption agencies and redefining marriage throughout the nation.

The Family Equality Council's clear objective is to pass legislation on the local and national level that would effectively shut down Christian based adoption agencies. We have seen this happen in Illinois, Massachusetts and Washington, D.C.

The legislation orders all adoption agencies to no longer put a priority in placing a child in a home with a mom and dad, despite the overwhelming evidence that such households are by far the best environment for a child.

One of the most commonly used terms of abuse regarding Israel is that it is an “apartheid state.” Images are more powerful than reason; the word ‘apartheid’ conjures up mental pictures of the Sharpeville massacre, signs saying ‘Whites Only.’ Connecting the adjective with Israel immediately makes many assume that the Arabs are treated in the same manner in Israel as non-whites were in South Africa.

But when we look at the facts perhaps reason should lead us to conclude that there should be a different destination for the label ‘apartheid.’

In Israel Arabs are entitled to the same protection under law as Jews. Arabic is an official second language in Israel. Arabs serve in the Israel Defense Force; it is possible for an Arab Muslim to become a commissioned officer in the IDF. It is possible for a Christian Arab female to become a combat soldier in the IDF as Corporal Elinor Joseph has shown. In 2003 the number of Muslim volunteers was 64.5 % higher than in 2000, while the enlistment of Christians increased by 16 % over the same period. A senior source at the IDF’s Personnel Directorate notes that incomplete figures for 2004 show a further increase, at a rate of some 20%, in the enlistment of youth from both sectors.

Louisiana is embarking on the nation's boldest experiment in privatizing public education, with the state preparing to shift tens of millions in tax dollars out of the public schools to pay private industry, businesses owners and church pastors to educate children.

Starting this fall, thousands of poor and middle-class kids will get vouchers covering the full cost of tuition at more than 120 private schools across Louisiana, including small, Bible-based church schools.

The following year, students of any income will be eligible for mini-vouchers that they can use to pay a range of private-sector vendors for classes and apprenticeships not offered in traditional public schools. The money can go to industry trade groups, businesses, online schools and tutors, among others.

Researchers are alerting the appropriate officials to a recent vulnerability they have found in computer chips used in everything from aircraft to laptops that could leave them open to the exploits of hackers. There has been speculation that the “backdoor” was purposely placed in these chip while being made in China, but many experts — including the researchers who discovered the vulnerability — say this is highly unlikely.

The Guardian states the backdoor is in systems such as the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, drones, surveillance equipment, and other military, medical and communications products. The chip by U.S. manufacturer Actel (also going by Microsemi) — produced in China — has a loophole that Sergei Skorobogatov with Cambridge University and Chris Woods with Quo Vadis Labs say would allow the hacker to “disable all the security on the chip, reprogram cryptographic and access keys … or permanently damage the device.”

Congress is set to wade into one of the most sensitive topics in the abortion debate, with a House vote Wednesday on a bill that would ban abortions that are performed solely because of an unborn child’s sex.

Pro-life advocates say sex-selection abortion amounts to a “war on baby girls,” and maintain that the practice - which is outlawed but still common in countries such as India and China - is on the rise in the United States.

The war on terror is long over. The Taliban are not the enemy of the U.S. Military and intelligence training materials have been scrubbed of any hint that there is any Islamic jihad against the U.S. As far as the U.S. Government is concerned, there isn't. The Obama Administration has applauded and in some cases actively aided the "Arab Spring" that is bringing Sharia rule to Egypt, Libya and elsewhere, and is abetting through the courts efforts to procure special privileges and accommodations for Muslims in American businesses and educational institutions.

We are at peace, except for our hearts-and-minds operation appealing to the Noble People of Afghanistan. All is well. And so in these millennial days of peace, we look back in gratitude upon those who sacrificed all to preserve our nation and our freedom, and marvel at the wondrous times in which we live, when sacrifice is no longer necessary.

In reality, of course, it's Memorial Day, and the jihad is stronger than ever, more confident than ever, and we are everywhere in denial, with our government and law enforcement officials, as well as the mainstream media, more clueless or complicit than ever.

The millennial time of peace in which we live is, of course, illusory, and that will do nothing but become clearer and clearer in the coming days and months.

A huge adjustment in our political and military culture is called for if we are going to prevail. The only way we can truly honor the fallen today is to call things by their right names, see things clearly, and begin to move toward doing what is necessary to defend ourselves and Constitutional liberties.

As dark as the picture appears to be, an increasing number of people are waking up. And we must keep fighting. To do anything less would be to dishonor those we are endeavoring to honor today.

Good thing we expended all that American blood and treasure to fight the Afghan jihadists, eh? Meanwhile, note that the problem here is not just the Taliban, but the Afghan government -- both of which are committed to Sharia, which denies women basic rights.
