In the age of Obama, the media formerly known as mainstream can remind one of 19th century British literature. Pride and Prejudice sometimes, of course, but more often a favorite Sherlock Holmes story, Silver Blaze. In it, the famous sleuth... http://blog.heritage.org/2009/09/15/morning-bell-media-watchdog-has-no-b... |

12% of the US Population but... 32% of the US welfare rolls
It is often said that California is a window onto America's future. Well, with a heavy tax and regulatory burden, a new greenhouse gas emissions law, and rapidly growing welfare rolls, perhaps America should... http://bullypulpit.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1034... |

SACRAMENTO â Sen. George Runner (R-Antelope Valley) released the following statements regarding the passage of the Democratsâ prison bill, Senate Bill 18xxx, this evening: âCalifornia inmates are the only winners with the passage of this bill because now they will receive âgood timeâ credits just for showing up to prison instead of actually earning the early release credits through either work or education. âHereâs an example of how the standard proposed in SB 18xxx works: The drug pushing felon with the firearm would be rewarded with one day of early release credit for every day of âcontinuous incarceration.â âThis is an early release gimmick cloaked in bureaucratic machinations. Why wonât the Democrats be honest about the intent of this bill and just cut sentences in half? Because ultimately, thatâs what this bill will do.â |

Plan will place families at risk and compromise the safety of communities
Senate Republicans rejected a Democrat plan which would release dangerous criminals back into California neighborhoods to ease overcrowding, stating that no one should be given early release because of the stateâs inability to manage its prison system. The Democrat proposal would facilitate the early release of thousands of so-called ânon-violentâ criminals from state prisons. GOP lawmakers pointed to the fact that criminals convicted of a myriad of troubling crimes would qualify as ânon-violentâ criminals eligible for early release under the Democrat plan, including such crimes as human trafficking, stalking, solicitation to commit murder, identity theft and elder abuse. Senate Republicans also noted that under the majority partyâs legislation, a convict need only be present to automatically be awarded credits for every day served discipline free â even if the inmate refuses to participate in any education, work, or rehabilitation program. There would no longer be any motivation for a prisoner to take steps to improve his/her ability to survive crime free on the outside. Senate Republicans joined law enforcement and victimsâ CONTINUED » |

September 11 is a day of national remembrance for Americans
Senator George Runner Serving the 17th District which incorporates portions of the Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Ventura and Kern counties. It is a day when inconceivable violence, chaos and evil were brought to the shores of our great country. But the American people did not crumble; nor did we fold as our enemy had hoped. Instead we were fortified, built stronger. As we have done in other critical periods in our young countryâs history, we came together as one people â particularly New Yorkers who selflessly helped one another from the rubble of the two towers brought down by rogue terrorists. September 11 is a day we should forever reflect on as a moment in time that brought Americans strength and courage as countrymen â yes, indeed we are united people in the United States. No enemy large or small has the power or ability to bring us down or destroy the most free and finest country in mankindâs history. Firemen raise the flag at Ground ZeroI salute the brave men and women who put their lives on the line on that fated day. They are true American heroes. My heart and prayers go out to the families who continue to suffer from the losses of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. I applaud the efforts of our Armed Forces who are fighting CONTINUED » |

Exactly the same reason I don't watch these channels either...they only report what the left wants you to know... "Today even though President Obama is against off shore drilling for oil for this country. He signed an executive order to loan 2 Billion of our taxpayers dollars to a Brazilian Oil Exploration Company (which is the 8th largest company in the entire world) to drill for oil off the coast of Brazil. The oil that comes from this operation is for the sole purpose and use of China and not the USA. The Chinese government is under contract to purchase all the oil that this oil field will produce, which is hundreds of millions of barrels of oil". We have absolutely no gain from this transaction whatsoever. Wait it gets more interesting. Guess who is the largest individual stockholder of this Brazilian Oil Company and who would benefit most from this? It is American Billionaire, George Soros, Liberal businessman who is a radical left wing supporter, finances MoveOn.org as well as other liberal programs and was President Obama's largest and most generous supporter during his campaign. If you are able to connect the dots and follow the money, you are probably as upset as I am. Not a word of this transaction was on any of the other news networks. |

The U.S. Post Service was established in 1775 - they've had 234 years to get it right; it is broke, and even though heavily subsidized, it can't compete with private sector FedEx and UPS services. Social Security was established in 1935 - they've had 74 years to get it right; it is broke. Fannie Mae was established in 1938 - they've had 71 years to get it right; it is broke. Freddie Mac was established in 1970 - they've had 39 years to get it right; it is broke. Together Fannie and Freddie have now led the entire world into the worst economic collapse in 80 years. The War on Poverty was started in 1964 - they've had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our hard earned money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor"; it hasn't worked. Let's all TRY to remember this as the elections of 2010 are drawing near. And for sure in 2012! Not long ago I read a joke... It said all the politicians running for president are promising change to the American people. We send them billions and billions of tax dollars and they send us the change. Funny? Not really; there is too much truth in it to be funny. But that got me to thinking... They all promise change. A restoration that would take us back in time to a place where things ran better, smoother and life was more enjoyable. Change? That, in truth, is what they have been CONTINUED » |
