This program is only funded for 6th grade students here in Ventura County to hopefully support our youth making positive/healthy choices in their lives and how to use this information to help their family members as well, even if they have already started using and are addicted to the nicotine. 1. To report illegal sales of tobacco (cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco) to minors (under the age of 18)… If someone sees a store clerk selling to a minor, they can make an anonymous call to: (800) 5ASK-4-ID 2. If you know someone that is already addicted to smoking and wants to quit. The Ventura County Public Health offers free classes to anyone in Ventura to help them stop smoking. They also provide “free” nicotine patches to help those going through withdrawals. 201-STOP |
The cities of Piru and Fillmore lost all Time Warner cable service Thursday, for approximately 7 hours. Service was reconnected about 10:00 p.m., after exhaustive efforts by approximately 12 company specialists. The outage was due to an improperly installed cable in 1991, which was accidentally cut because it was not placed with enough depth. It had been laid on top of the old concrete highway which is now Santa Clara Street. Enlarge Photo By Anonymous — Wednesday, May 28th, 2008
