• Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity - Balanced Man Scholarship to young men who exemplify the qualities of a Sound Mind and Sound Body. Students must be
planning to attend Cal State Fresno. Deadline is June 21st. For complete details, see Mrs. Larin.
• California Association of Pest Control - students who plan to attend a Ventura or Santa Barbara Community College. Students must have a 2.5 GPA or
higher, be involved in agriculture or horticulture related extracurricular activities, demonstrate an interest in the fields of agriculture and/or horticulture plus a
desire to become a Pest Control Advisor. For an application, see Mrs. Larin. Deadline is June 10th.
• California Association of Pest Control - scholarship to students who plan to attend a four year California college or university. Students must have a 2.5
GPA or higher, be involved in Ag related extracurricular and/or community activities, demonstrate an interest in the fields of agriculture and/or horticulture and

Fillmore Ebell Club who have always supported the arts in the Fillmore School System will be entertained by the Fillmore Drama Class at our May 24th Meeting. The drama students will be presenting "The Best of 2011" showcasing the best scenes performed by the Drama Class this year. They will also include a scene or two from the latest collaboration with the Sespe Players "Totally Rad" Come and join us in supporting the youth of Fillmore ad help bring their future into the world of Arts and Entertainment.

Our Luncheon Meeting is at the Memorial Building and starts at 12:30 pm. Lunch is catered by Dustin Anderson chef of the Double AA here in Fillmore Cost of lunch is $12.00. For reservations please call Lavonne Deeter at 524-2090. Anyone wishing to attend the program only the cost is $10.00 and will start at 2:00 pm. The Ebell Club will also be having their installation of officers for 2011-2012.

2. BOYS BASKETBALL – Practice is Wednesday and Friday from 3:30-5:30PM.
3. GIRLS GOLF - Girls wishing to participate in Girls Golf, Mr. MacDonald will meet with you after school on Friday in the Student Store.

CONGRATULATION - to the Video Production class! They won $500 for their winning entry in the Speak Up Video Contest. Their entry was “Out
of the Mouths of Children”. It was about a young boy who refuses to get into his brother’s car after the brother has been drinking. Fillmore High
School Production Class: Naomi Aguilar, Myra Landin, Kenya Medina, Aime Lopez, Anahi Romero, Emily Serna, Maria Villalobos.
ATHLETICS:

1. Congratulations to our Fillmore High School Track and Field Team. Both the Girls Varsity and Boys Varsity are league champions for the
2011 season. In addition the JV teams also won league. Way to go runners, jumpers and throwers. Congratulations to the following track
athletes who qualified for CIF Prelims this Saturday: In the 4 x 100m Relay: Christian Cornejo, Daniel Cruz, Alberto Fernandez and Juan
Mariscal. For individual races, Kiana Hope qualified in the 800m, 1600m and 3200m, Juan Mariscal qualified in the 400m, Jose Almaguer
qualified in the 1600m and in Girls High Jump, Anna Aarastad. We also want to congratulate Kiana Hope, as a freshman she has won
MVP for the Frontier League.
