2. Fillmore High School will be offering a CAHSEE Language Arts Class, CAHSEE Math Class, a Credit Recovery Class, and a Migrant PASS
Program Class during the summer. These classes will run from June 9th until July 2nd and will start at 8:00 a.m. and end at 11:25 a.m.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided at San Cayetano School. Buses will transport student home from San Cayetano School at 12:10 p.m.
Students enrolled in the CAHSEE classes will be able to take the CAHSEE exam during the third week of July. Please turn in your Notice of
Summer School letter to Mr. Torres or Ms. Green.
3. There are 6 summer school student tutor positions available for 10th or 11th grade students. You may earn 5 TA credits. If you are interested,
see Mrs. Green.
4. Art Club is selling autograph books for $5. See any art club member or come to room 34 to buy one.

• The Mexican American Bar Association of Ventura County is offering a scholarship to individuals of Hispanic origin who have demonstrated a
commitment or desire to serve the community in a law capacity for social justice. Deadline is June 26th. See Mrs. Larin for an application.
• The BigSun Organization is offering a scholarship to young athletes regardless of the sport they are engaged in. Students must send a short
essay answering one of the following questions: 1) Have you ever struggled for something and succeeded? What made you feel that you were
successful? 2) Have you ever struggled for something and failed? How did you react to this? All essays submissions should be sent to:
athleticawards@bigsunathletics.com. Deadline is June 25th. For complete details, see Mrs. Larin in the College and Career Center.
STUDENTS:

Mountain Vista School staff and students would like to thank FHS Senior Jonathan Medrano for
creating a beautiful rose garden at the school. His hard work and dedication to this service project

3. Motion Picture Industry Joint Apprenticeship Committee will be accepting applications for apprenticeships in the occupation of Heating,
Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Mechanic from May 11th through May 15th.
4. Rosetta Stone Scholarship Contest is available to students who have learned English as a second language. Students must also be
planning to attend an accredited college or accredited trade school and be U.S citizens, legal residents or have official work or student visas.
You must write an essay in which you address the following question: “How learning English as a second language impacted your life”. See
Mrs. Larin or go online to www.rosettastone.com/scholarship.

3. You may not attend Prom if you have outstanding Saturday School assignments or detentions. See your Assistant Principal for more

4. Sadie Hawkins pictures and softball pictures are in and can be picked up at KSSP Photographic Studios (330 Central Ave.).
5. Advanced Art students turn your sketchbooks in to Ms. M by Friday. Drop them off before or after school.

Ventura County, please follow these good health habits: Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Stay at home
